We have prepared a programme of inclusive, fun and nurturing sessions. We are alternating between two classes which address similar and different issues. They both have something in common: they are full of useful tips to increase your confidence in yourself through becoming stronger, supple , curious, and playful. Join us!
Rise and Shine
These fun and friendly bi-monthly sessions are open to anyone over the age of 50, and will focus on supporting participants to build strength, physical confidence and prevent falls through dance and somatic exercises peppered with fun and vibrant music.
We do a combination of seated work, barre and dance, using music from a variety of styles. Movement can be tailored to different abilities, so come, have a go and bring a friend.
This class is dementia and Parkinson’s friendly and wheelchair accessible.
Falls prevention
These sessions are devised to support participants to reduce the risk of falls and subsequent injuries, improve physical and mental health and enhance their quality of life and independence.
Sessions take place in a fun and supportive environment peppered with music and fluid movement. We will focus on awareness of our bodies; and increasing our strength, flexibility and proprioception. Special attention will be paid to breathing too and to regulating our nervous system.
Who is this for?
Open to older adults who due to age, medication, transitional stages and/or medical conditions, feel less steady on their feet and would like to feel safer. If you would like to develop your balance, improve strength and coordination, promote your physical capabilities, reduce the fear of falling, gain confidence and meet some lovely people along the way, this might be your class.

After both sessions, we offer free refreshments.
This programme is presented by South East Dance and it takes place at the Dance Space, Brighton.
