This concept is born out of the Finding your Compass project (http://findingyourcompass.co.uk/home/), of which Rosaria is co-founder. Exploring the movement process of FYC, ‘Dancing Ourselves’ is a complete and fun session which addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing motion & creating functional strength.
The 8 week programme uses elements from the GYROKINESIS ® and OTAGO systems (of which Rosaria is a certified trainer), creative exploratory tasks and dance from different styles. The classes are devised for people with movement disorders, e.g. (although not exclusively) MS, arthritis. It will be also relevant for people who feel low mood, apathy, lack of energy or isolation.
It is a fun, caring and nurturing session, that takes care of the body and the mind.
Supported by the Brighton Health and Wellbeing Centre as part of their HERA project, which uses arts prescriptions to support their patients. This is an 8 week programme which resumes on 1st October 2019 and is held at St. Mary Magdalene Community Centre, from 15.00 to 16.00 http://stmarymagcommunity.blogspot.com/p/how-to-find-us.html
